Giving For Good
At IHG, we are all incredibly proud of our bold and stretching Journey to Tomorrow commitments. With over 6000 hotels across the world, our 10-year plan to make a positive difference in a changing world unites us all.
Every day of the year our colleagues in hotels and offices take meaningful steps to provide True Hospitality for Good. In September, however, we go the extra mile for our people, communities and planet! September is our IHG Giving for Good month!
With over 65 colleagues from the IHG HR teams gathered in our global Head Quarters in Denham, UK, we rolled up our sleeves together to contribute. Three local partner organisations helped us make a true difference through skill building, environment preservation and disaster relief actions:
- Sharing early employment Interview skills with the curious and driven students from the Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust
- Building bird and pollination boxes for the biodiversity preservation with @ChilternRangers
- Packing Hygiene kits with @CleantheWorld to support those who need it most, through our partner Charity @St.Mungos
At IHG, we all #gofurthertogether, and this includes collaborating to give back, having fun together to go longer and building trust to go bolder.
“Coming together as a HR function to work together, have fun and importantly give back to causes that are close to our hearts was amazing, it’s days like these that help us connect to our purpose to provide true hospitality for good and make me proud to work for IHG!”
Andrew Francks, CHRO Chief of Staff & Global Talent & Leadership Strategy Director
“What a fantastic experience for our young learners! Upbeat, friendly and very professional, which made the students feel at ease when conversing with them. The students were so excited on our return from IHG. They definitely gained a lot from their interaction with your HR staff”
Marcia Reid, Senior Officer, Marketing and Publications at the Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust
“I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to get involved in giving back to the community, benefiting causes close to my heart. It was heart-warming to be able to share the experience and network with other colleagues and hope to do it again in the future. A day I will not forget!"
Kay-Leigh Ann Oldbury, HR Intern at IHG
