Role Purpose

The Team Leader – Credit Control is responsible for independently managing complex, high‑value, or high‑risk portfolios while acting as a subject‑matter expert within the team. The role focuses on delivery of cash targets, credit risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and governance, while providing informal guidance, mentoring, and escalation support to peers without direct line‑management responsibility.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Independently manage complex, high‑value credit control portfolios to deliver monthly cash and aging targets
  • Own recovery actions for overdue and high‑risk balances, including escalated and sensitive accounts
  • Act as an escalation and subject‑matter expert for complex collections, disputes, and stakeholder issues
  • Identify and mitigate credit risk, supporting bad debt reviews, provisioning, and audit requirements
  • Ensure compliance with credit policies, SOX controls, and governance standards
  • Provide accurate collections updates, risk visibility, and forecasting inputs
  • Support team capability through informal coaching, knowledge sharing, and best‑practice guidance
  • Contribute to process improvements and cross‑functional initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls

 

Key Skills & Experiences

  • Strong expertise in Credit Control, AR management, and cash forecasting
  • Ability to handle complex, highrisk, or escalated portfolios independently
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • High attention to detail with an ownershipdriven mindset
  • Ability to influence without formal authority
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving capabilities

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Credit Control / Accounts Receivable
  • Demonstrated success handling complex or multiregion portfolios
  • Experience operating in a shared services or global finance environment preferred
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline

  • Communication – Possess good communication skills.
  • Flexibility – Flexible to work in multiple shifts
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams
