The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising the stewarding team to ensure the cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food preparation areas. The role includes overseeing dishwashing operations, maintaining sanitation standards, inventory control of kitchen cleaning supplies, and supporting the kitchen and banquet teams.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of stewards and dishwashers.
- Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and monitor performance of stewarding staff.
- Train and mentor stewarding team members on safety, hygiene, and operational procedures.
- Ensure team members follow hotel policies, procedures, and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and dishwashing areas.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and tableware are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Conduct regular inspections of stewarding areas for cleanliness, functionality, and safety.
- Implement and monitor HACCP and other food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, dishwashing chemicals, and kitchen tools.
- Coordinate with procurement for replenishment of stewarding stock.
- Ensure proper storage and usage of cleaning products and equipment.
- Support kitchen and banquet operations by ensuring timely availability of clean tools and utensils.
- Assist in setup and breakdown of events by providing necessary stewarding services.
- Liaise with the culinary and service departments to ensure smooth workflow.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in hospitality or sanitation is a plus.
- 2–4 years in stewarding, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; knowledge of sanitation standards; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
