Staff Accommodation Technician

We are a people-powered business. So, we’re looking for a Staff Accommodation Technician who understands that colleague welfare and living conditions are essential to a great workplace. Someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-functioning accommodation facilities, ensuring our colleagues feel at home and supported throughout their stay.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Carrying out daily maintenance tasks across the staff accommodation, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.

Responding promptly to maintenance requests from residents and resolving issues efficiently and professionally.

Conducting routine inspections to ensure all rooms, facilities, and common areas are in good condition and compliant with safety standards.

Coordinating with the Staff Accommodation Supervisor on repair needs, improvement projects, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Ensuring proper upkeep of equipment, tools, and materials, and reporting any major issues requiring external contractors.

Supporting new staff room allocations by preparing and maintaining rooms to accommodation standards.

Assisting in fire safety checks, emergency responses, and ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene requirements.

Maintaining accurate logs of tasks completed, materials used, and issues identified.

What we need from you

High school diploma, technical or vocational training in maintenance (electrical, plumbing, or general engineering).

1–2 years’ experience in maintenance, engineering, or facility support—hospitality or staff accommodation experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general repair work.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.

Good communication skills and a positive, helpful attitude when assisting colleagues.

Must speak basic English; additional languages may be preferred.

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency maintenance needs.
