DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete all Spa duties and maintain the cleanliness of the locker rooms, common areas, and all areas related to the Health Club/Spa throughout shift.

  • Greet and treat Members and guests in a professional and friendly manner.  Follow established rules of engagement, e.g., treat each client as if they are the only person in the room giving them full attention, address each person by name, etc.) 
  • At the beginning of each shift, check all supplies to ensure adequate stock; replenish from the stock room as necessary.
  • Check steam room, sauna, and/or pools for proper temperature and cleanliness.  Adjust or clean as necessary.
  • Promote team work and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent plus one year experience in a similar environment.  Must speak fluent English.  Other languages preferred.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Frequently standing up and moving about the facility

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds

  • Handling objects, products and equipment

 

Other:

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with clients and guests.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often. 
  • Basic math skills are used frequently.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

 

HEALTH & SAFETY

Because safety is a management responsibility, department managers are held directly accountable for safe work practices and control of physical hazards in their areas.

 

  1. Follow safe work procedures as outlined in departmental policy and procedures manuals, including the use of personal protective equipment

  2. Know and comply with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations, as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Ministry of Labour

  3. Report all injuries or illnesses to supervisor or manager immediately

  4. Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee by bringing health and safety concerns or issues to the attention of the committee

  5.  

Review and be aware of all sections of the Health and Safety Manual
