We’re searching for a Security & Risk Manager to lead our security, safety, and risk management operations and create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment at Crowne Plaza Kathmandu Pulchowk.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
● Leading the overall Security, Safety, and Risk Management operations of the hotel to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, colleagues, visitors, and hotel assets
● Reviewing security reports, incident logs, and shift handovers to identify ongoing concerns, potential risks, and areas requiring attention
● Conducting daily briefings with Security Supervisors and team members to align on operational priorities, VIP arrivals, guest movements, events, and security coverage
● Developing and implementing security, safety, emergency response, and risk management procedures in line with hotel and IHG standards
● Conducting regular risk assessments and security inspections across guest areas, back-of-house areas, access points, parking facilities, and other critical areas of the hotel
● Coordinating closely with local police, fire services, emergency services, and relevant authorities to maintain strong relationships and ensure effective response during emergencies
● Leading investigations into security incidents, accidents, theft, loss, and other reported concerns, ensuring appropriate documentation and follow-up
● Working closely with HR and department heads on colleague safety, workplace security, investigations, and emergency preparedness
● Overseeing security manpower deployment and coverage for daily operations, VIP movements, conferences, weddings, and other major hotel events
● Ensuring effective implementation of access control, key control, CCTV monitoring, visitor management, contractor access, and other security systems
● Planning and conducting emergency drills and training to ensure colleagues are prepared to respond effectively to fire, medical emergencies, natural disasters, and other critical situations
● Monitoring compliance with hotel, IHG, and local safety and security requirements and ensuring corrective actions are completed within agreed timelines
● Preparing accurate security, incident, investigation, and risk management reports for hotel management
● Identifying opportunities to improve security processes, reduce operational risks, and strengthen the overall safety and security culture of the hotel
What We need from you:
● Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
● Minimum 6 years of experience in security and safety, hotel security, military, law enforcement, or a related field, including supervisory or managerial experience
● Strong knowledge of security operations, emergency procedures, crisis management, risk assessment, and incident investigation
● Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate security teams while managing multiple operational priorities
● Experience in working and coordinating with local law enforcement, fire services, emergency services, and relevant authorities
● Good understanding of fire and life safety, emergency preparedness, access control, CCTV, key control, and workplace safety practices
● Excellent observation, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and report-writing skills
● Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies and high-pressure situations
● Must speak the local language(s); additional languages are an advantage
● Previous experience in an international hotel environment will be an advantage
