Key Responsibilities 

1. Security Strategy & Operations 

  • - Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy aligned with Regent and IHG standards  

  • - Oversee all security operations including access control, surveillance, patrols, and incident response  

  • - Ensure 24/7 coverage across all areas (guest spaces, villas, beach, back-of-house, perimeter)  

  • - Maintain a visible yet discreet security presence

2. Risk Assessment & Mitigation 

  • - Conduct regular risk assessments covering physical security, operational risks, guest safety, and external threats  

  • - Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk register and mitigation plans  

  • - Anticipate and manage risks associated with high-profile guests, events, and VIP movements  

  • - Lead crisis preparedness and business continuity planning

  • - Ensure security protocols are seamless and non-intrusive, preserving guest privacy and comfort  

  • - Manage VIP and high-profile guest security requirements with discretion  

  • - Support concierge and guest relations teams for secure, personalized experiences  

  • - Handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality

4. Health, Safety & Emergency Management 

  • - Develop and implement emergency response plans (fire, medical, natural disasters, security threats)  

  • - Conduct regular drills and training for all colleagues

  • - Coordinate with local emergency services and authorities

  • - Protect hotel assets including physical property, cash, inventory, and intellectual assets  

  • - Implement loss prevention strategies to reduce theft, fraud, and misuse  

  • - Conduct investigations into internal and external incidents

  • - Manage security systems including CCTV, access control, alarms, and analytics platforms  

  • - Evaluate and implement advanced security technologies  

  • - Ensure data security and integration with IT systems where applicable  

 

8. Team Leadership & Development 

  • - Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing security team (including outsourced providers if applicable)  

  • - Ensure team is trained in guest interaction, emergency response, and conflict management  

  • - Foster a culture of vigilance, professionalism, and service orientation  

  • - Conduct performance management and continuous development  

 

9. Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • - Work closely with Engineering (fire/life safety), HR (employee safety), and IT (cybersecurity alignment)  

  • - Liaise with local law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and government bodies  

  • - Support large events, group movements, and high-risk operations  

 

10. Sustainability & Duty of Care 

  • - Ensure security practices align with sustainability and ethical standards  

  • - Promote a safe and inclusive environment for guests and colleagues  

  • - Support broader ESG and duty-of-care initiatives

Qualifications & Experience 

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Hospitality, or related field  

  • - 6–10 years of experience in security/risk management, preferably in luxury hotels or resorts  

  • - Experience managing large, open or complex environments (resorts, integrated developments)  

  • - Certifications in security, risk management, or safety (preferred)  

 

Preferred Experience 

  • - Background in military, law enforcement, or corporate security  

  • - Pre-opening or major renovation experience in luxury properties  

  • - Experience handling VIP/high-profile guest security  

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 

  • - Number and severity of security incidents  

  • - Response time and effectiveness during incidents  

  • - Compliance audit scores and regulatory adherence  

  • - Loss prevention metrics (shrinkage, fraud reduction)  

  • - Staff training completion and drill effectiveness  

  • - Guest safety perception and satisfaction scores
