Duties and Responsibilities 

A. IN THE SECURITY / TIME OFFICE 

 

1 Controls entry and departure of employee through punching card system 

2 Controls all office, store and vehicle key, issue and return. 

3 Controls entry and departure of all visitors / and contact Personal through maintaining records and by issue of temporary permits. 

4 Maintains checks on vehicles that pass through the front entrance barrier from receiving / loading areas. 

5 Receives and convey all telephone messages to employee who are on duty and distribute all letters. 

6 Carries out body checks periodically to prevent removal of hotel property and check parcels and equipment coming in and out going out of hotel through gate pass (AG 23) system. 

7 Controls of bleeper system. 

8 Responds to fire alarms by observing T.V monitor and accepting computers print outs. 

 

B. WHILST ON PATROL AND AT SENTRY POINTS 

 

1. Patrols building and premises regular and report any unusual happenings and / or about strangers. 

2. Opens and close loading / Receiving shutters (Daily) 

3. Controls staff quarters barriers. 

4. Checks all doors areas, inside hotel slong with shops, stores and offices. 

5. Keeps watch at lobby areas and observe all incoming and outgoing people along with parcels, bags, equipment, etc. To make sure that nothing belonging to hotel goes out without proper permission. 

6. Controls unauthorized people from entering floors and corridors and disturbing hotel guest and damaging hotel property. 

7. Examines and check all items outgoing and incoming after outside catering through out going items sheets. 

8.Controls guest at parties and functions on request of organizer on behalf of the hotel and also control items brought in/taken out for such eventualities. 

9. Keeps check on garbage removal to prevent hotel property going out. 

10. Checks all fire equipment for readiness of use and see the equipment are in proper places. 

11.Keeps all fire exits well lit and open. 

12.Helps ROP fire brigade personnel to carry out checks periodically. 

13.Controls outsiders at barberques and brunches. 

14. Preparations of Chief Security officers Log Book to a Resident Manager by summarizing entries made by Security officers in a daily occurrence Book. 

15. Enforces all recommendations made in Log Book by General Manager, Resident Manager, with advice from Chief Security Officer. 

16. Oversees the security functions of the Hotel during Chief Security Officer’s absence based on General Manager/Resident Manager recommendations. 

17. Initiates a spot check on Employee time cards. 

 

C. AT THE NIGHT CLUB 

 

1. Controls entry of guests to night club. 

2. Enforces dress code. 

3.Prevents unruly behavior by guests. 

4. Summons ROP when necessary to prevent any damages to hotel property at night club after consulting Duty Manager. 

5.Maintains record of all persons entering night club. 

 

D. SPECIAL DUTIES (AS AND WHEN NECESSARY) 

 

Helps Personnel department with worker idenfication. 

Helps Personnel department for enforcement of employee discipline. 

Helps administration in investigation. 

Keeps headcount during fire emergencies. 

5. Controls crowds during emergencies. 

6. Helps to put out fire by coordinating activity with Engineering. 

7. Helps ROP Personnel in emergency. 

8. Prepares helipad areas for landing of helicopter.
