Duties and Responsibilities

Wellness

The Security Manager fully embraces and safeguards the wellness philosophy, concepts, programs and brand initiatives. This includes participating in Mission Wellness activities. All aspects of these wellness initiatives are adopted and implemented throughout the operation and its strategic planning and development.

Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of everything done at Six Senses. The Security Manager ensures all directives on environmental protection and preservation, re-usage and minimum wastage, purchasing and packaging such as the abolition of single-use plastic, social responsibility and all other practices documented in the Sustainability Guidelines are followed in the department. Goals are set to improve departmental performance while maintaining a harmonious and sensitive approach to the environment and cultural surroundings.

The Security Manager assists in delivering Out of the Ordinary experiences that inspire the spirit of hospitality by delighting others and creating stories. Operational Ownership

The Security Manager ensures the efficient operation of the Security department to provide exceptional products and services within Six Senses brand operating standards and budget.
The Security Manager works strategically with the General Manager to develop cohesive and productive goals for the department and establish procedures/guidelines to achieve them. The role supports overall consistency of the Company’s vision, quality/standards and develops concepts consistent with brand identity.

Scope of work includes:

  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and practices and updating knowledge and skills to improve product and service offerings.
  • Focusing on the rejuvenation of the department.
  • Ensuring products and services are constantly assessed and reviewed to remain relevant, innovative and aligned with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
  • Regularly reviewing adherence to LQA standards through physical presence.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and direction in all areas of security, loss control, best practices, and security programs including strategic planning.
  • Offering guidance on business security standards and solutions to maintain a secure environment for hosts, guests, property, and information.
  • Monitoring security conditions and analyzing data from internal and external sources to advise on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborating with all departments and external groups to resolve security-related issues.
  • Ensuring legal, statutory, and financial requirements, documentation, reporting systems, contractual obligations, safety protocols, communications, product/service standards, host management practices, and budgetary controls are implemented and maintained.
  • Maintaining relationships with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and other issuers of security requirements.
  • Overseeing major security-related projects and technologies including card key access systems, alarm systems, video surveillance, security services, data security systems, and other related systems.
  • Inspecting and securing guest areas, public areas, and heart-of-the-house areas regularly and ensuring timely action on improvements.
  • Coordinating emergency responses and compiling incident reports.
  • Developing and implementing a security training strategy for the property.
  • Minimizing payroll costs through efficient scheduling of hosts.
  • Preparing and submitting legally required and confidential documentation.
  • Completing corporate reporting requirements accurately.
  • Attending or conducting designated meetings and briefings as instructed by the Manager.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

People Management

The Security Manager supports the General Manager in managing and developing all hosts within the department through direction, delegation, interaction, encouragement, discipline, training, performance evaluation, and counseling to build a loyal, productive, and effective team. Hosts are expected to report for duty punctually, wear correct attire, and deliver friendly, courteous, consistent, and efficient service.

The Security Manager works closely with Human Resources to identify potential internal and external candidates and identifies high-potential talent for departmental development. The role models professional behavior, adheres to Six Senses principles, core values, best practices, guidelines, and objectives, respects other cultures and nationalities, and promotes a positive and proactive team environment.

Responsible Business

All activities are carried out ethically, honestly, and within local law parameters. The Security Manager ensures a safe and secure environment for guests, hosts, and hotel assets in compliance with hotel or owner policies and regulatory requirements. The role maintains relations with external contacts and drives host involvement in community organizations, activities, and businesses.

The Security Manager is a personally involved, visible, and proactive leader with excellent organizational skills, capable of providing focused direction and continuing to establish the company’s prominent market position. The role requires strategic decision-making capabilities and a track record of proven results in customer satisfaction, operational excellence, host satisfaction, revenue, and profit. The Security Manager engages in high-profile business and social community activities.

Skills and Experience

To execute the role, the Security Manager must possess strategic decision-making capabilities and a proven track record in security and safety.
Technical skills include advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent command of written and spoken English is required, along with some knowledge of the local language and customs.
A thorough understanding of Six Senses guidelines, rules, regulations, brand and operating standards, facilities, and services is maintained.

Remarks

Workdays and timing are based on business needs, seasonality, and local labor laws. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods. It is dynamic and may change to meet operational requirements. Performance is measured directly against job responsibilities. Travel for work-related meetings and events is required.
