What is the job?

The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining business from local corporate accounts, military and government sectors to achieve hotel revenue goals in rooms, meeting & event spaces, and ancillary services. This role drives account acquisition, retention, and long-term partnerships through strategic sales actions, relationship management, and tactical execution aligned with the hotel’s commercial objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Sales Development & Account Management

  • Identify, solicit, and secure new business from local corporate, military, and government organizations within assigned territory for their individual traveler, group business for Rooms.

  • Manage existing key accounts through regular visits, entertainment, and business reviews to maximize yield and share of wallet.

  • Conduct detailed needs analysis for each segment to design tailored rate plans, volume contracts, and meeting/event packages.

  • Maintain updated account profiles and activities in the hotel CRM system (e.g., Opera / IHG Concerto, etc.).

  • Manage and follow up the leads through Meeting Broker system to convert as Definite

2. Revenue & Target Achievement

  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual room night and revenue goals.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to grow transient, group, and C&E (Conference & Events) revenue from assigned markets.

  • Collaborate with Revenue team to ensure optimal rate positioning and tactical promotions for government/military contracts.

3. Government & Military Segment Management

  • Manage and maintain hotel participation in official government lodging programs (e.g., CLAS, FedRooms, Per-diem contracts).

  • Liaise with military base lodging offices, travel management centers, and government procurement agencies to promote hotel offerings. (Air Forces, Navy, Marine Corp and Army)

  • Ensure compliance with government contracting and billing standards.

  • Represent hotel at relevant military expos, government travel fairs, and official supplier networking events.

4. Local Corporate Market Engagement

  • Build strategic relationships with local corporate headquarters, industrial parks, SMEs, and regional offices.

  • Develop Preferred Local Corporate Rate agreements and renewals in alignment with annual timelines.

  • Implement tactical promotions during low demand periods targeting weekday transient and small meetings.

5. Conference & Event Sales

  • Proactively promote hotel meeting rooms, banquet facilities, and event spaces to local corporate, military, and government clients.

  • Prepare and deliver customized proposals, conduct site inspections, and coordinate with banquet and operations teams for flawless event execution.

  • Maximize event space utilization through yield management and optimal date pattern control.

6. Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with Front Office, Revenue, Reservations, and F&B teams to ensure seamless client experience and service delivery.

  • Coordinate with Marketing for co-branded campaigns.

  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, market review sessions, and business planning workshops.

7. Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare accurate weekly and monthly sales reports, including account production, pipeline forecasts, and competitive intelligence.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine strategies.

  • Maintain organized records of all contracts, correspondence, and account history.

 

What we need from you

 

  1. Education - Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration/Hotel Management
  2. Service years  - Five plus years of similar positions or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. 
  3. Knowledge and skills
  • Strong knowledge of local businesses and business trends required.
  • Strong background in hospitality and any related.
  • Good Communication and writing skills. Negotiation skill
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the resort, the brand and the Company.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.
  • Tasks and Project Management Skills
  1. Language - Fluent in English (speaking, listening, reading and writing)
  2. Preferred (if required)
  • Frequently standing and moving about the facilities.

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds

  • Handling products, objects, or equipment

  • Communicating with staff and management
