Holiday Inn Werribee is situated in the heart of the Werribee city centre, being the talk of the town for Werribee and surrounds. The hotel occupies the top four floors of the mixed use 12 storey premises and boasts sweeping views right across to the You Yangs and Wyndham Harbour. The hotel offers 150 stylishly appointed guest rooms and suites, gym, outdoor garden courtyard, all day dining in our Rosana Bistro & Bar and a large, versatile conference and events spaces.
A Little Taste of Your Day to Day
House person role will involve restocking back of house areas with linen, guest amenities and housekeeping supplies.
Making sure our public areas and rooms are always ‘fresh and welcoming’ for our guests is a top priority – creating a haven for them to escape and relax in or get a bit of last-minute work done before dinner.
Our 150 room hotel prides itself on its high standard provided to guests and are looking for a person who shares our pride.
- Be safety aware by always following our established safety procedures such as manual handling and wearing protective equipment when needed
- Be organised - keep on top of supplies and amenities and always try to minimise waste
- Reunite items with owners and report/log any lost and found property
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
- Regularly assist with deep cleaning projects
What we need from you
Ideally, you'll have previous experience in housekeeping or the hotel industry. You'll be skilled at prioritising tasks and take pride in your ability to clean guest rooms to the highest standard.
We’ll need flexibility with your time so we can serve our guests the best we can.
We are looking for candidates with the following qualities:
- A positive and energetic attitude with a "can do" approach meaning you're happy to roll up your sleeves and help everyone out
- A genuine want to be part of working at a hotel and join a highly motivated team
- Ability to be self-motivated and a self-starter that can take the lead in any situation
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts during the early morning starting at 7am, days, evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Full Australian working rights (Sponsorship is not available)
- It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet during your shift, so fitness is important
- Strength – you’ll need to push housekeeping and linen trolleys daily. Occasionally you may be required to push heavy objects and lift items of up to 23 kilograms with manual handling equipment
- You’ll might need to bend and kneel to complete some activities
- Literacy skills - reading, writing and basic math's skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
