As a Public Area Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of all hotel public areas, ensuring they meet InterContinental brand standards at all times. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming and safe environment for our guests and colleagues.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:
- Clean and maintain all public areas including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, elevators, offices, and back-of-house areas
- Ensure floors, carpets, glass, furniture, and fixtures are kept clean and well-maintained
- Replenish supplies in public restrooms and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures
- Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly
- Support special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning tasks as assigned
- Maintain high standards of hygiene in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with guests and colleagues
What we need from you:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Positive attitude, reliability, and team-oriented mindset
