Pastry Chef – Holiday Inn Cheraga Towers, Algiers

At Holiday Inn Cheraga Towers, Algiers, we believe every dessert tells a story. We are looking for a Pastry Chef with a passion for creating truly memorable sweet experiences. Whenever and wherever our guests choose to indulge, you’ll ensure excellence, maintain high standards, and keep the pastry kitchen running smoothly.
 

A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
● Crafting a refined and original dessert menu in line with the hotel’s identity
● Managing, organizing, and supervising all pastry production for restaurants, banquets, breakfasts, and room service
● Leading and developing your pastry team, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing training
● Collaborating with the Executive Chef and F&B Director on menu creation and special events
● Ensuring consistent quality of all products – taste, texture, presentation, and freshness
● Monitoring ingredient orders and managing pastry stocks (chocolate, fruits, creams, etc.)
● Applying and enforcing HACCP standards and internal hygiene and safety procedures
● Controlling food costs and adhering to budgetary targets
● Developing seasonal, themed, or customized creations for special occasions
● Participating in tastings, quality audits, and guest feedback reviews to continuously refine the dessert offering

What we need from you
● Degree or certificate in Pastry (CAP, BEP, BTM, or equivalent)
● 5–7 years of proven experience in high-end pastry, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
● Strong mastery of classical and contemporary pastry, bakery, and viennoiserie techniques
● Creativity, passion for taste, and a keen eye for detail and aesthetics
● Leadership, organizational skills, and team management experience
● Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
● Solid knowledge of hygiene, food safety, cost control, and stock management
● Flexibility, rigor, and team spirit
