We’re searching for a Painter to support our Engineering team in maintaining the appearance, quality, and presentation of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces at Crowne Plaza Kathmandu Pulchowk.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
● Carrying out painting, repainting, touch-up, and finishing work across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and other hotel facilities
● Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks and holes, and applying appropriate primers before painting
● Applying paint, varnish, stains, coatings, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other appropriate tools
● Ensuring consistent color, texture, coverage, and finishing quality in accordance with hotel standards
● Carrying out regular touch-up and maintenance painting to keep hotel areas well maintained and visually appealing
● Responding to painting and decoration requests raised by hotel departments and completing assigned work within the required timeframe
● Coordinating with the Engineering team and relevant departments to plan painting work while minimizing disruption to guests and hotel operations
● Protecting furniture, flooring, fixtures, equipment, and other surfaces from paint, dust, and damage during maintenance work
● Maintaining and properly storing painting tools, equipment, materials, and supplies after use
● Monitoring the availability of paints, thinners, brushes, rollers, protective materials, and other painting supplies and reporting requirements to the Engineering team
● Ensuring proper disposal and handling of paint, chemicals, containers, and other waste in accordance with hotel procedures and environmental requirements
● Supporting other basic engineering and maintenance activities when required and within the scope of skills and training
● Maintaining a clean and safe working area before, during, and after completion of painting work
● Reporting defects, damaged surfaces, water leakage, cracks, or other building conditions that may require additional maintenance attention
● Following all hotel engineering procedures, safety requirements, and manufacturer instructions when using tools, equipment, paints, and chemicals
● Ensuring compliance with health, safety, chemical handling, environmental, and workplace standards as required by local regulations
What We need from you:
● Technical qualification, vocational training, or relevant certification in Painting, Decoration, Building Maintenance, or a related trade preferred
● Minimum 2–3 years of practical painting or decoration experience, preferably within a hotel, commercial building, or similar environment
● Good knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, color mixing, coatings, and finishing methods
● Ability to work with different types of paint, finishes, surfaces, and painting equipment
● Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, neatness, and professional finishing
● Ability to identify surface defects and determine appropriate preparation and treatment before painting
● Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with Engineering and other hotel departments
● Ability to manage assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards
● Good knowledge of safe handling and storage of paints, solvents, chemicals, and related materials
● Ability to work at heights and in different areas of the hotel using appropriate safety equipment and procedures
● Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to support other Engineering activities when required
● Knowledge of workplace health and safety, chemical handling, and environmental standards as required by local regulations
