Night Auditor – Six Senses Kanuhura

Duties and Responsibilities

•     Conduct comprehensive night audit procedures, ensuring all daily financial transactions are accurately recorded, verified, and reconciled. 
•     Review and validate all entertainment checks, confirming proper approvals and ensuring vouchers, checks, and registration cards are maintained in strict numerical sequence. 
•     Reconcile guest accounts, including room charges, credit card transactions, and other billing entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 
•    Verify room rates against contracted or approved agreements to ensure compliance with pricing standards. 
•     Audit and validate miscellaneous charges, ensuring all postings are supported by proper documentation and authorization. 
•     Ensure all property management and financial systems are updated, balanced, and aligned with daily operational reports. 
•      Prepare, analyze, and verify the Daily Revenue Report, highlighting discrepancies and providing accurate financial insights to management. 
•      Identify and report irregularities, discrepancies, or potential risks in financial transactions and operational processes. 
•     Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with internal controls and audit standards. 
•      Support operational continuity during overnight shifts by addressing guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism and efficiency. 
•      Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support overall hotel operations. 
•      Consistently uphold Six Senses brand standards, delivering exceptional service quality and operational excellence. 
•      Ensure full compliance with Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards and actively contribute to achieving positive guest feedback and satisfaction scores.

Qualifications
To execute the position of Night Auditor, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and include the following:

•    Diploma or equivalent qualification in Finance or Accounting. Professional accounting certifications are an advantage. 
•    At least 1 year of experience in a hotel accounting or similar role; a hospitality degree from a recognized institution is preferred.
•    Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and the ability to perform financial calculations.
•    Familiarity with PMS systems such as OPERA is an advantage.
•    Ability to work independently during night shifts.
•    Excellent communication skills.
