Key Responsibilities Engineering & Maintenance
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and basic civil works.
- Attend to guest room and public area maintenance complaints promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to guests.
- Perform routine inspections of rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and plant rooms as per PPM schedules.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical fittings, lighting, sockets, switches, DBs, and basic control panels.
- Handle plumbing tasks including leak rectification, sanitary fittings, pipelines, pumps, and valves.
- Support HVAC operations including AHUs, FCUs, exhaust systems, split ACs, and basic refrigeration tasks.
- Carry out minor carpentry, painting, and patchwork to maintain aesthetics and safety standards.
- Follow IHG brand standards, engineering SOPs, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely using appropriate PPE and tools.
- Assist in fire & life safety checks including fire alarm systems, extinguishers, emergency lighting, and evacuation signage.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and near-miss incidents immediately.
- Support audits and inspections (IHG, statutory, internal).
- Respond to guest maintenance requests with courtesy, professionalism, and urgency.
- Communicate clearly with Front Office and Housekeeping to coordinate room readiness.
- Maintain a positive, service-oriented attitude at all times.
- Update maintenance logs, job cards, and PPM records accurately.
- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables; report shortages timely.
- Escalate major faults to the Chief Engineer with clear diagnostics.
- Support the Engineering team during peak operations and emergencies.
- Assist external vendors and contractors during repair and maintenance works.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Engineering leadership in line with hotel operations.
