Job Overview
As a Meetings and Commercial Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing both event planning and commercial projects in the MLAC region. This multifaceted position requires a combination of project management skills, event coordination expertise, and a strategic mindset to enhance revenue to our portfolio of hotels in the region. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end project lifecycles, coordinating events, and ensuring seamless collaboration between various stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Return
Develop and manage budgets for both commercial projects and events, ensuring financial objectives are met
Guest Experience
Develops and delivers the relevant and appropriate documentation to the customer and hotel
Ensures the timely follow up and pursuit of business with customers and stakeholders in order to drive the highest levels of conversion
Responsible Business
Lead and manage commercial projects aimed at enhancing the hotel's revenue streams.
Develop project plans, outlining objectives, timelines, resource requirements, and key performance indicators.
Supports and coordinates Commercial initiatives within the Business Plan.
Fulfills and where possible exceeds customer & hotel expectations in the conversion of their enquiries into an IHG branded hotel with a focus on generating the best levels of revenue
Ensures accurate and timely capture of pertinent data into the required systems
Build and maintain relationships with Key Stakeholders, clients, and properties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Technical skills and Knowledge
Demonstrated ability to determine what is required, act and take responsibility to deliver it. Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines and commitments, and complete tasks and projects as required.
Must have established organization skills required to maintain electronic and paper filing systems
Maintain a high level of knowledge pertaining to policy and procedure and communicate knowledge effectively to all personnel when applicable.
Must possess strong communication skills, written and verbal; articulate, persuasive & influential; systematic and timely to convey information to clients, technicians, management and team members as well as producing reports.
Experience with MS Power Point, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, Canva
Verbal and written fluency in at least two languages of the region as appropriate
Education: Degree level education
Experience: At least two (2) years of business experience in Groups/Hotel Guest Relations/Hotel Sales environment, systems, terminology and processes.
