Role Purpose

  • The Accounts Payable Manager will be managing Global Operations for his/ her Process.
  • Will be required to work with on shore counter parts, Customers and business managers.
  • Will be working on issue resolution and Process improvements in AP Process.
  • Will need to make sure the process SLA's are maintained in all regions.
  • Will work on ensuring the IHG Values are adhered and team members work towards it.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for review of team operations, specialized transactions, and service quality.
  • Ensure tasks assigned to the department are completed per the process responsibility matrix and satisfy the regional requirements.
  • Direct and oversee of the preparation of timely, accurate monthly work related items
  • Demonstrate expertise in Issue Resolution, Providing Permanent Fixes for recurring issues.
  • Define, implement and monitor Process related updates and changes.
  • Timely and accurate data to be provided to auditors as and when the request arises for the various AP related audits.
  • Should be able to put processes in place to ensure smooth delivery of operations.
  • Should work on a Continuous Improvement Plan for ensuring Performance does not slip in any region.
  • People Management: Coach and develop team members: hire, fire, assess, discipline, document performance, succession planning and recommend salary and classification changes.
  • Work on minimizing Attrition in Process.
  • Direct process to ensure proper controls are in place for the team and direct efforts to ensure team productivity is measured, scored and communicated according to standards.
  • Actively work with the Regional Counterparts to ensure if there are any issues and provide necessary solutions to them
  • To ensure process applied by India based regional accounting teams are consistent and conform to the global model.
  • Active Participation in enhancement and project related work for AP.
  • Actively manage the business continuity and disaster recovery plans for the regional process.
  • Seek opportunities under the IHG’s environmental strategy and the implementation there-of.
  • Timely Merit reviews and Performance appraisals

Key Skills & Experiences

Education

  • Post Graduate Degree preferred.
  • Relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of PeopleSoft or other enterprise financial systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, motivating and developing people.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in working along side a global team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in recognizing and resolving problems or inconsistencies in transactions and system.

Experience:

  • 6-8 years progressive work related experience in accounting and finance with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position as well as 3-5 years managing people
  • Positive attitude and High levels of energy

Physical Requirements –

  • Work is performed in a normal office environment.
  • Ability to function effectively in different time zones.
  • Work may include regional and/or international travel.
