Your day-to-day
• Attend PMM work in guest rooms and update in system. Repair any faults
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer
• Establish and maintain proper parts inventory levels
• Maintain clean and tidy workshop and plant rooms
• Painting as required
• Repair walls, doors and other surfaces for painting to appropriate standards
• Be Responsible for Hotel Keys Issued for use and ensure returned and secured
• Communicate to leaders regarding any difficulties with service, guest comments and other relevant information; follow complaint handling procedures for prompt resolution of challenges
• Demonstrate a sound awareness of WH&S policies and procedures
• Champion the identification and correction of hazards using a range of risk management tools including, yet not limited to hazard reporting, workplace inspections, accident/incident/injury reporting
• Where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to control exposure to hazards in the workplace, wear and maintain the PPE as directed or as required in WH&S procedures
• Strictly adhere to IHG policy concerning the Trade Practices Act, Human Rights, and Gifts & Bribery and comply with safe work practices by following IHG Health, Safety and Environment policies
• Assist in supporting the Engineering team operationally as required
What we need from you
•Demonstrated experience in general building maintenance, plumbing, engineering and/or construction
•Guest focused – understand the worksite is a 24-hour customer-based business
•Strong attention to detail, communication and organisational skills
•A high energy level and passion for achieving results, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload
•Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc
•Flexibility to work 7 days roster with changing starting and finishing time
•Test and Tag license (Not essential)
•Comprehensive knowledge of Technology and information system.
