Job Summary:
As an integral part of our Regent Santa Monica Beach team, the Laundry Washer Attendant is responsible for the careful cleaning and upkeep of linens, towels, and guest garments. This position is essential in maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness, ensuring our guests enjoy the exceptional comfort and luxury that define our resort.
A little bit about your day:
Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, every day is different, but you will mostly be:
- Maintain impeccable personal grooming standards to uphold the professional and property style of the hotel.
- Attend daily shift briefings.
- Follow the laundry sequence of service and standards for laundry production.
- Ensure proper PPE (personal protective equipment) is always worn.
- Ensure all chemical bottles are properly labeled following MSDS (Martial safety data sheet guideline).
- Operate all laundry equipment according to proper guidelines and instructions.
- Ensure all linens and terry are processed promptly and completed by the allotted time.
- Operate industrial laundry equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Handle guest clothing and delicate fabrics carefully, following specific instructions, and return to the guest within two hours.
- Identify and treat stains on fabrics using appropriate cleaning agents and methods.
- Follow specific care instructions for different types of fabrics, ensuring longevity and quality preservation.
- Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, quality, and presentation.
- Report any damaged or stained linens, terry and garments to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Iron and press linens and garments to meet the resort’s standards.
- Ensure crisp, neat, and professional presentation of all items.
- Ensure accurate information is updated on the laundry logs and inventory sheets.
- Regularly clean and maintain laundry equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to the maintenance department for timely repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while handling laundry chemicals and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Report any items found in the laundry that do not belong to the resort to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Follow the resort’s lost and found procedures for guest items left in the laundry.
- Communicate effectively with the Housekeeping Manager regarding any operational issues or special requests.
- Handle guest requests for laundry services promptly and professionally.
- Guest laundry is presented elegantly.
- Folded items are returned with luxurious presentation.
- Hanging items are neatly returned on high quality hangers, with non-slip insert for trousers.
What We need from you:
- Minimum 1 year hotel experience in a similar role.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Some housekeeping experiences and ability to speak English preferred.
- Outstanding organizational abilities and skill for taking initiative, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritizing.
- Passionate about hospitality and providing an outstanding guest experience!
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling items up to 100 pounds.
- Frequently standing up and moving about the facility.
- Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility.
- Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What you can expect from us:
The hourly pay range for this role is $25.61 to $32.02. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach.
