Job Overview
InterContinental Malta is excited to welcome a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to our passionate culinary team. In this vital role, you will support the smooth and hygienic operation of all kitchen and storage areas. Your responsibilities will include receiving and distributing stock, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding the highest food safety standards. You'll help keep our back-of-house operations running efficiently, allowing our chefs and service teams to deliver truly exceptional guest experiences every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the receipt and checking of deliveries from the main store
- Distribute food and stock to the correct kitchen, fridge, or dry store
- Monitor expiry dates and food quality to ensure compliance with HACCP standards
- Clean and maintain kitchen and food storage areas to a high standard
- Work closely with chefs and purchasing teams to ensure stock levels are maintained
- Perform regular stock counts and assist with inventory management
- Support kitchen staff with basic prep tasks as needed
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies
Skills & Requirements
- Ideally, prior experience working in a kitchen or store environment
- Good command of the English language (spoken and understood)
- A team player with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
- Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Able to work under pressure and follow instructions efficiently
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
