The Teen Academy program is a summer work + internship program which began in 2016 at the IHG Army Hotel in Joint Force Base San Antonio. In 2017, other IHG Army Hotels took notice, and a portfolio-wide program was born.

We are looking for energetic and conscientious teens that are interested in working this summer in the hospitality industry. Our goal is for you to help us provide excellent service to our guests, while at the same time earning a generous paycheck and hopefully spark interest in a career in the hospitality industry
Qualifications –
You must be in one of the following three categories:
- The relative of a current IHG Army Hotels - Colleague.
- The relative of a Civilian DoD employee.
- A Military Dependent.
- Ages 14 to 17, subject to federal and state labor laws
Your Day to Day –
Provides teens with skills development and real experience working in a hotel.
Helps develop a strong work ethic while providing a rewarding summer experience.
Shapes strong family values as we prove IHG’s Winning Ways and a commitment to deliver True Hospitality is not only for work, but for a strong and healthy lifestyle.
Builds appreciation for hard working parents and/or other relatives that work to provide for the family.
Teen Academy is designed as a 10-Week Program.
Program duration may vary depending on local school schedules.
The Program takes place during summer months only when school is out.
Participating teens may not work more than 40 hours per week.
Work more than 8 hours/days 5 days/week; or work overtime.
Core program hours: 0830 – 1630.
What we need from you –
Each teen should be willing to learn different job duties including Houseperson, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Breakfast Attendant.
Must have transportation and be able to gain access to the post.
Each teen will be interviewed by the GM, HM, OM, and the HR Manager (if applicable).
If the teen is hired, the teen and the sponsoring employee must sign the Job Description form, the Teen Academy Agreement, and a release of liability form. * The sponsoring employee and participating teen must also provide either a federal or state certificate of age as well as any work permits, or certificates required under state law. The required permit(s)/certificate(s) must be provided to IHG prior to the start of the Program.
If the sponsoring employee is not the teen’s parent or legal guardian, the parent/guardian must also sign the Job Description form, the Teen Academy Agreement, and a release of liability form, and ensure all certificates of age/work permits are provided to IHG.

The hourly pay range for this role is $16.66 to $23.99. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
