Human Resources & Payroll Specialist

We are seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Specialist to join our HR Team at IHG Hotels & Resorts - Malta. 

Reporting to the Cluster Director of HR & Training, the selected candidate will be responsible to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll, HR administration, and compliance with Maltese employment regulations for our employees in our prestigious hotels including InterContinental, Holiday Inn Express, VOCO Hotel – Malta.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and process monthly payroll accurately using the Shireburn Payroll system.
• Ensure compliance with Maltese Labour Law, including employment contracts, leave management, and statutory obligations.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Provide support on HR matters such as onboarding, offboarding, employee benefits, and performance management processes.
• Ensure adherence to Company Policies and Procedures and IHG Standards.
• Prepare payroll reports and ensure timely submission of government-mandated reports and contributions.
• Assist in the implementation of HR policies and ensure company practices comply with local legal requirements.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in payroll processing in Malta is essential.
• Solid knowledge of Maltese Labour Law and HR best practices.
• Proficiency in using Shireburn Payroll system.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Maltese is an advantage.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
