As Housekeeping Manager, you will manage all aspects of housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure brand cleanliness standards are consistently delivered. You will lead the department in driving guest satisfaction, cost control, compliance, and team engagement in line with IHG standards.

Your day to day

People

  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to improve performance.
  • Recruit, train and develop housekeeping colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental health and safety regulations.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

Guest Experience

  • Inspect public areas, guest rooms/suites, equipment, linens and ensure cleanliness standards are maintained.
  • Ensure all guest rooms are prepared according to IHG brand standards.
  • Handle guest complaints and special requests to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure VIP rooms and special arrangements are prepared as per instructions.
  • Drive improvement in guest satisfaction scores and cleanliness metrics.

Financial

  • Prepare and manage annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.
  • Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on productivity and cost per occupied room.
  • Manage inventory levels including linen, guest supplies and cleaning materials.
  • Optimize labor cost through effective manpower planning.

Responsible Business

  • Maintain and order supplies and equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure proper chemical handling and safety compliance.
  • Implement green initiatives such as linen reuse and waste management.
  • Maintain procedures for security of lost and found items.
  • Ensure compliance with IHG Clean Promise and audit standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. May serve as Manager on Duty when required.

Accountabilities

This is the top leadership role within the Housekeeping Department.
Responsible for supervising housekeeping and laundry team members and ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and guest satisfaction targets are met.

What we need from you

  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management preferred.
  • Minimum 6–7 years of housekeeping experience, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role in a branded hotel.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Good understanding of budgeting, cost control and productivity management.
  • Knowledge of hotel PMS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to speak English and local language(s).
