Join our team as a Handy Person at InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, where excellence in guest experience is matched by our commitment to maintaining world-class facilities.
Under the general direction of the Director of Engineering, and in line with IHG standards and procedures, you will help ensure all equipment and areas of the hotel are operating at peak efficiency to support an exceptional guest experience.
Your Day to Day:
- Maintaining and repairing guest rooms, hotel facilities, plant rooms, and equipment, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Performing preventative maintenance and addressing curative repairs in a timely and guest-focused manner.
- Supporting the team by reviewing guest feedback, participating in improvement initiatives, and sharing ideas during meetings.
- Upholding safety standards, including compliance with OH&S procedures, correct use of PPE, and following emergency protocols.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and daily reports using hotel systems.
- Contributing to sustainability efforts by using energy-efficient practices and effective recycling methods.
- Participating in training and development, including IHG learning programs and regular performance reviews.
What we need from you:
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and external partners, reflecting positively on the hotel, the brand, and the company.
- Strong problem-solving, reasoning, organizational, and training abilities.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment is desirable.
