What is the job?
As a Groups & Events Sales Executive at InterContinental Grenada, you will be responsible for driving revenue through the sale of banquets, meetings, weddings, and special events. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, craft bespoke event experiences, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure flawless execution that reflects our Brand standards. You will handle and service/detail group booking turnovers.
Your day to day
Sales & Client Acquisition
- Actively solicits, conducts sales calls, generates leads and pursues new business opportunities within the local market and incoming banquets and event leads (corporate, social, weddings, private functions, etc.).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding/event planners, 3rd party, and local businesses.
- Conduct site inspections and presentations, showcasing the resort’s accommodations, event spaces, F&B offerings, and services.
Proposal & Contract Management
- Manages group booking turnovers to include menu planning, transportation, activities, billing, rooming lists.
- Create customized proposals and event packages based on client requirements.
- Negotiate terms, prepare contracts, and manage all documentation related to banquet and event bookings.
- Ensure all client expectations are clearly documented and communicated to the operations team via a resume.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Details and Executes BEOs
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients from inquiry through to event completion.
- Collaborate with internal departments (F&B, Culinary, Rooms Division, AV, Housekeeping) to ensure all event elements are executed to standard.
- Coordinates with the Executive Chef all menu proposals presentations and other kitchen related requirements
- Attend key events to oversee execution and provide on-site support to ensure client satisfaction.
- Ensures SOPs and timing of deliverables – i.e. resume distribution, BEOS, post-cons – are strictly adhered to.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and bookings Prepare regular reports on sales activity, revenue forecasts, and post-event feedback.
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitor offerings, and client expectations to refine sales strategy.
What we need from you
Responsible Business
- Handles the timely set up of all venues according to the service settings and as outlined in the BEOs.
- Coordinates with the F&B Manager and Banquet Supervisor outsourced logistical support such as contracted outside work force, contracted food and beverage supplies, music equipment, etc.
- Actively involved in achieving the department’s annual budget forecasts.
- Conducts spot checks on the business activities of immediate competitors.
Sales
- Conduct site inspections
- Conduct sales calls per week in accordance with the business plan.
- Prospecting
- Assist with market intelligence and information gathering of benefit to the hotel.
Management
- Comply with and ensure adherence to all of the hotel’s policies and procedures
- Comply with all occupational health and safety policies and procedures
- Attend all scheduled meetings.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all staff and colleagues throughout the hotel and sister properties
- Maintain in good working order all hotel property in your possession.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times
- Have working knowledge of budget targets and develop strategies to achieve set targets
- Develop methods and initiatives to increase departmental revenue within the sales team.
General
- Communicate effectively with all other departments
- Attend meetings, training sessions and any other required meeting or training session.
- Identify opportunities to innovate service delivery and product offering to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Ensure safe work practices are adopted at all time and report any concerns immediately to your direct manager or Director of Human Resources.

- Assigned projects are completed within designated timeframes

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in banquets or event sales within a luxury hotel or resort setting.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience
- Previous experience within a hotel sales environment in an internationally recognized hotel chain at managerial level for at least 3 to 5 years within Grenada market.
- Current/previous responsibility for key accounts and new business generation in identified market(s).
- Track record of achieving sales targets.
- Existing corporate accounts in Grenada market.
- Demonstrated ability to manage own and others tasks through to conclusion.
- Ability to lead presentations, conduct effective negotiations and close deals.
Technical
- Competent Word, Excel, PowerPoint and software packages
- High proficiency in English language oral and written skills
- Highly organized, able to coordinate the efforts of others and manage multiple assignments and projects.
- Knowledge of hotel PMS (HIS, Opera) and other industry related software programs.

The role is based on property in Grenada. No remote work at this time.
