An opportunity to lead a well-established CBD hotel at the centre of Canberra.
Located in the heart of the city, Crowne Plaza Canberra is a well-established premium hotel operated by IHG Hotels & Resorts. The property features over 290 guestrooms, extensive meetings and events facilities, a restaurant and bar offering contemporary dining, outdoor pool and leisure facilities, and strong corporate and government demand driven by its prime CBD location.
The hotel plays an important role within Canberra’s hospitality landscape, welcoming business travellers, government delegations, conference groups, and leisure guests. With its strong brand positioning, established team, and clear commercial drivers, the hotel continues to focus on delivering high-quality guest experiences while driving performance across rooms, food & beverage, and events.
We’re seeking a commercially minded General Manager who enjoys leading teams, partnering with owners, and driving sustainable performance in a competitive capital-city market.
The role
• Full accountability for the hotel’s performance and commercial success
• Leading a well-established CBD operation with diverse business segments
• Close partnership with ownership on profitability and long-term asset value
• Creating a strong culture of accountability, engagement, and service
• Representing the hotel within the local market and broader IHG network
What we need from you
• Proven General Manager experience in a full-service hotel environment
• Strong commercial and strategic mindset with full P&L ownership
• Confidence partnering with owners and navigating competitive city markets
• A leadership style that builds engagement, capability, and operational discipline
• Solid understanding of the Australian hospitality market
