At InterContinental New York Barclay, we are looking for a confident and service-driven leader to oversee our overnight Front Office operations. As the Manager on Duty during overnight hours, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless operations, guest satisfaction, and hotel safety, while upholding the highest luxury service standards. Job Overview

Assist in managing all aspects of the Front Office during the overnight shift, including guest services, night audit, and hotel safety/security. Ensure smooth overnight operations, resolve guest concerns, and maintain brand standards while maximizing guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. Serve as Manager on Duty overnight, handling all hotel operations in the absence of senior leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all overnight hotel operations, with a primary focus on Front Office, night audit, and guest services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact overnight for all departments, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution.
  • Supervise overnight Front Office staff and ensure proper coverage with limited staffing.
  • Complete and/or oversee the night audit process, ensuring accuracy of financial transactions, reporting, and system balancing.
  • Ensure all cash handling, billing, and credit procedures are properly followed in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor hotel safety and security procedures, respond to emergencies, and act as the key decision-maker overnight.
  • Conduct routine overnight inspections of public areas, lobby, and front office to ensure cleanliness, safety, and brand standards.
  • Handle and resolve guest complaints or service recovery situations independently, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Support and train overnight staff on systems, emergency procedures, and service standards.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security for any overnight operational needs or incidents.
  • Review arrivals, departures, and VIPs for the following day to ensure operational readiness.
  • Maintain detailed shift logs and reports for handover to morning leadership.
  • Assist with staffing or HR-related matters and escalate serious concerns as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and support team members during peak overnight periods.

The salary range for this role is $68,000 - $75,000 annual. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City, NY. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
