Your day to day

Bottom line? We’re looking for a new Accounting Manager comfortable with balancing the books when it comes to managing the needs of owners, auditors and regulatory agencies while also monitoring and improving hotel profitability. In return, we’ll put our financial operations and the security of our hotel assets in your expert hands.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

JOB SUMMARY: Supports the day-to-day execution of general ledger impacted processes, including support to clients as they work with and understand these processes. Performs accounting functions specifically in the areas of account balancing, ledger reconciliation, reporting and discrepancy resolution.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Financial Operations & Reporting: 

  • Manage all general ledger processes, including balancing, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution. 

  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions. 

  • Generate accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and analyses. 

  • Oversee period-end closing functions and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines. 

  • Monitor tax compliance, collection, and accrual. 

  • Perform credit card ledger balancing and credit checks for direct-billed groups. 

  • Analyze financial data to identify issues and propose effective solutions. 

Financial Control & Compliance: 

  • Implement and audit Accounting SOPs across all property departments. 

  • Ensure strict compliance with Federal and State laws regarding fraud and collections. 

  • Maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard assets. 

Leadership & Team Management: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a productive and positive work environment. 

  • Delegate tasks and manage deadlines effectively. 

  • Provide guidance on accounting and budgeting policies to other departments. 

  • Ensure high standards of customer service and employee satisfaction within the department.

What we need from you

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional certification highly preferred. 

  • Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial management principles. 

  • Strong understanding of technical accounting standards and practices. 

  • Knowledge of Sage 300 ERP, BirchStreet, Opera,, Micros, ADP preferred. 

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and other Windows-based software 

  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate reporting. 

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
