Location: Grenada. This position is not eligible for remote work.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Provide classroom and individual training for incoming and current employees in Food & Beverage department to assist in building a more capable workforce and to improve retention.   

 

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure room is set-up according to specifications and is equipped with required training aides such as flipcharts, markers, pens, and audio/visual equipment, etc.  May conduct department orientation training for all newly hired employees in assigned department(s).

  • Work with department management to identify individual’s with retraining needs.  Provide re-instruction for those individuals and follow up to ensure the deficiency is corrected.

  • May cross train and certify trainers to facilitate training programs.   

  • Consult with department management to establish training needs and associated budget requirements. 

  • Prepare monthly training progress reports and communicate to management team members the previous month’s accomplishments and next month’s training objectives.

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.  Key contacts include hotel Training Manager, Regional Training Manager, and Corporate Training Department.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

This is a training professional with training responsibility for one or more departments in a large full-service, luxury, resort, or major flagship hotel employing more than 150 employees.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

Some college plus 3 years of related training experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Management or related field preferred. Must speak fluent English.  Other languages preferred.

 

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds

  • Frequently standing and walking

  • Handling objects such as flip charts, audio/visual equipment.

 

Other:

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions, and training.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often. 
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
