As a Restaurant Server, you’ll welcome our guests, recommend food and drink and help keep service on-track and up to standard. By tailoring each guest’s experience to their unique tastes, you’ll create memories as delightful as the dishes.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but mostly you’ll be:

  • Report to work punctually ten minutes prior to start time on the roster, dressed in appropriate uniform and with impeccable grooming which complies with the Hotel’s policy and procedures
  • During service, maintain cleanliness and appearance of immediate work area, including tables, stations, bar area, back-of-house preparation areas etc. Maintain standard of cleanliness of all items of operating equipment within these areas.
  • Be familiar with food and beverage item par stocks, requisitioning procedures and transfers. Rotate perishable stock of food and beverage items on a ‘first-in first-out’ basis ensuring they are stored securely in the correct location.
  • Perform department/outlet opening or closing duties as required. Ensure that wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout shift.
  • Attend briefings and training sessions.
  • Assist colleagues as required.
  • Maintain a cost conscious attitude at all times, advise supervisor of any damage, spillage or breakage. Assist in periodic stocktakes of
  • food, beverage, tobacco, equipment and/or linen as required. Be familiar with linen item par stocks and replenishment procedures.
  • Be aware of environmental issues/goals and minimize wastage and breakages. Advise supervisor of any damage, spillage or breakage
  • Avoid the promotion of or participation in any acts that may result in injury to themselves, other colleagues or any damage to Hotel property.
  • Actively report workplace hazards, injuries and accidents arising from workplace activities, providing recommendations for corrective actions to prevent or minimise the chance of recurrence. Actively work with Department head and Return to Work coordinator about recovery should you be injured in the undertaking of your duties.

What we need from you

  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions (a kind reminder that sponsorship is not available for this role)
  • Prior experience working as a Food and Beverage Attendant at a luxury hotel is preferred 
  • Mandatory certifications include RSA Certification
  • Passion for providing luxury experiences, not shy to go above and beyond to personalise our Guests stay and provide your local wisdom to enhance their experience 
  • Ongoing availability to work flexibly as rostered, including nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene 
  • An organised approach, ability to handle large amounts of information at once and deal with various requests simultaneously 
  • Good communication and writing skills.
  • Physical fitness as you’ll be on your feet most of the day. Sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull objects, such as tables, up to 23 kg – we have the equipment to support you and keep you safe.
