What is the job?

 

Great hospitality memories come from many places — the sights, sounds, scents, and above all, the service. As a Casual Food & Beverage Attendant, you’ll welcome our guests across a variety of outlets, recommend food and beverages, and help ensure service runs smoothly and to standard. By tailoring each interaction to our guests’ individual preferences, you’ll create moments as memorable as the dishes and experiences we offer throughout the hotel.

 

We are seeking true All-Rounders working across a rotating roster, who are confident and comfortable working across all Food & Beverage outlets. This includes the Deck, core Restaurant, Banquets, In-Room Dining, Mini Bar and the Club Lounge. Your flexibility and willingness to support multiple outlets will help us deliver exceptional guest experiences throughout the hotel.

 

Your day to day

 

  • Create a genuine and welcoming first impression for every guest, setting the tone for an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive.
  • Prepare and serve beverages with care, and present food in line with our established health, safety, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and secure bar area, ensuring all equipment and alcohol stock are handled responsibly.
  • Process cash and card transactions accurately and professionally.
  • Take pride in your presentation by wearing your uniform neatly, upholding grooming standards and consistently representing our hotel brand.
  • Support your colleagues by stepping into other areas when needed, contributing to a smooth operation across all outlets.
  • Follow all safety and hygiene procedures to maintain a safe environment for guests and team members.
  • Monitor guest behaviour and alcohol consumption, checking identification when appropriate, and escalate any concerns to management to always ensure responsible service.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the F&B service areas.
  • Encourage guest feedback and act on opportunities for service recovery, helping ensure every guest leaves satisfied and valued.

 

What we need from you

 

  • RSA – valid in Tasmania.
  • Flexible across mornings, nights, weekends and public holidays in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Highly articulate, with a warm and approachable communication style that makes guests feel at ease.
  • Ability to remain active throughout your shift, carry plates and trays safely, and perform general physical tasks as required.
  • Previous experience as a Bartender, Section Waiter, Barista, or Banquets Attendant is highly regarded. However, we are also happy to provide training for the right candidate. What matters most is a positive attitude, reliable work ethic, and the ability to be flexible across all outlets.
  • Be already based in Hobart or in the process of relocating with valid working rights in Australia.
