Farm Supervisor - Six Senses Zighy Bay

Duties and Responsibilities
As Farm Supervisor, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Dibba Farm and Landscaping department to provide exceptional products and services within brand operating standards. 

The duties and responsibilities will include:

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Dibba Farm, focusing on animal husbandry, crop production, and overall farm maintenance.
• Oversee care and management of livestock (goats, cows, chickens, etc.), including feeding, milking, health checks, grooming, and general welfare.
• Monitor and record daily production of milk, eggs, and other farm outputs, ensuring accurate reporting to the Executive Chef and Finance for cross-charging to the kitchen.
• Supervise and manage a team of 4 farm hosts, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
• Coordinate vegetable and fruit planting, harvesting, and soil management, following organic and sustainable farming practices.
• Maintain accurate farm inventories, including livestock feed, equipment, seeds, and other supplies.
• Ensure all animals receive proper medical checks, vaccinations, and treatments, liaising with veterinarians as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of animal pens, feeding areas, and storage facilities in line with food safety and Six Senses standards.
• Prepare farm-to-table produce for the resort, coordinating with chefs and supporting the Farm Experience cooking activities when required.
• Welcome and guide owners and guests during farm visits or inspections, explaining farm practices, demonstrating animal care routines, and ensuring engaging and safe interactions.
• Ensure proper handling of food and compliance with HACCP and food safety standards for any produce or cooking conducted on-site.
• Monitor water and feed systems, ensuring proper functioning and adequate supply.
• Ensure high standards of personal grooming, hygiene, and professionalism at all times.
• Safeguard guest and owner privacy by handling all sensitive information with discretion.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings, contributing to continuous improvement of farm operations.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.
 

Qualifications

To execute the position of Farm Supervisor, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

• Strong veterinarian expertise or animal health background, with the ability to monitor livestock health, prevent and treat diseases, and manage breeding programs.

• Proven experience in a similar agricultural/animal husbandry role.

• Strong background in livestock management, including feeding, breeding, health checks, and milk production.

• Knowledge of sustainable farming practices, including vegetable and fruit cultivation.

• Practical experience with farm machinery, tools, and maintenance.

• Valid car driving license (for commuting between Dibba Farm and the resort when required).

• Commitment to Six Senses values of sustainability, wellness, and service excellence.

• Fluent in English; fluency in local language is a plus.
