Your Day to Day

As F&B Server – In Room Dining, you will deliver food and beverages to guest rooms, ensuring prompt, courteous, and high-quality service. You’ll be responsible for setting up trays or trolleys, handling orders accurately, and providing a personalized guest experience while maintaining cleanliness and following hotel service standards.

Some of your main role responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for preparing orders, setting trays or trolleys, and delivering items to guest rooms in an attentive and efficient manner.
  • Ensure excellent quality of service is provided at all times, in accordance with hotel standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare food and beverage trays/trolleys and serve items to guests, adhering to health, safety, and presentation standards.
  • Be attentive to guests’ needs and maintain cleanliness in both work and guest areas.
  • Promptly and discreetly retrieve trays and trolleys from guest rooms and corridors.
  • Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when service should be discontinued. Notify management of incidents involving excessive drinking or impaired guests. Verify identification whenever the age of a guest requesting alcohol is in question.
  • Perform opening and closing duties for the department or outlet as required. Maintain clean and organized wait stations throughout the shift.
  • Follow hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any safety or service incidents to the Supervisor or Manager on duty.
  • Address guest complaints or problems promptly and follow established service recovery guidelines to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless service.
  • May be required to receive guest payments and process transactions in accordance with hotel cash and charge procedures.
  • Ensure all food and beverage equipment is operational and cleaned regularly.
  • Coordinate with the Kitchen and Stewarding departments to support smooth service operations.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of hotel facilities and provide accurate, polite, and helpful responses to guest inquiries.
  • Assist in other Food & Beverage outlets such as the restaurant or banqueting/events as needed.

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for: 

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in hotels in similar position
  • Food service experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations preferred. 
  • Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements.
  • Communication skills used frequently when interacting with guests wait staff, cooks, and supervisor.
  • Reading and writing abilities used often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
  • Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
  • Ability to perform the following: Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms, assist with the food delivery, bending, stooping, kneeling, handling food objects; plates, trays, glasses, etc
