A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
Crafting menus that are bold, stylish, and true to the Kimpton spirit – where luxury meets lifestyle, while ensuring operational efficiency
Inspiring and leading a passionate culinary team, guiding them to deliver consistency and creativity across every outlet
Elevating the guest experience through innovative dishes, impeccable presentation, and seamless service delivery
Managing budgets, food costs, and labour planning with precision, balancing creativity with financial responsibility
Building strong supplier partnerships and ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked, organized, and compliant with food hygiene and safety standards
Collaborating with hotel leadership to align culinary offerings with guest expectations and overall brand vision
Managing recruitment, training, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions to build and sustain a high-performing team
Driving continuous improvement by identifying talent, providing training, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
What we need from you
A minimum of 10 years of culinary leadership experience, with at least 3 years at Executive Chef in a high-volume, fully-service luxury hotels.
Strong expertise in banqueting and event catering is preferred
A bachelor’s degree or certificate in culinary arts or hospitality management
A holder of local Hygiene Manager Certificate and/or Food Safety and Hygiene certification
A creative spirit with a deep passion for diverse cooking methods, ingredients, culinary trends, balanced with operational discipline
Exceptional leadership skills – able to inspire, train and grow a high-performing team
Good time management skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, adaptable in a dynamic hospitality environment
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, inventory management and/or procurement software experience and timekeeping software
Excellent command of English, both speaking and writing; speak Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) would be an advantage
