A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is differentbut you’ll mostly be:

  • Crafting menus that are bold, stylish, and true to the Kimpton spirit – where luxury meets lifestyle, while ensuring operational efficiency

  • Inspiring and leading a passionate culinary team, guiding them to deliver consistency and creativity across every outlet

  • Elevating the guest experience through innovative dishes, impeccable presentation, and seamless service delivery

  • Managing budgets, food costs, and labour planning with precision, balancing creativity with financial responsibility

  • Building strong supplier partnerships and ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked, organized, and compliant with food hygiene and safety standards

  • Collaborating with hotel leadership to align culinary offerings with guest expectations and overall brand vision

  • Managing recruitment, training, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions to build and sustain a high-performing team

  • Driving continuous improvement by identifying talent, providing training, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability

     

What we need from you

  • A minimum of 10 years of culinary leadership experience, with at least 3 years at Executive Chef in a high-volume, fully-service luxury hotels. 

  • Strong expertise in banqueting and event catering is preferred

  • A bachelor’s degree or certificate in culinary arts or hospitality management

  • A holder of local Hygiene Manager Certificate and/or Food Safety and Hygiene certification

  • A creative spirit with a deep passion for diverse cooking methods, ingredients, culinary trends, balanced with operational discipline

  • Exceptional leadership skills – able to inspire, train and grow a high-performing team

  • Good time management skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, adaptable in a dynamic hospitality environment

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, inventory management and/or procurement software experience and timekeeping software

  • Excellent command of English, both speaking and writing; speak Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) would be an advantage
