As Engineering Project Director, I will fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them and our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness.  

Sustainability, Wellness and Out of the Ordinary experiences are at the core of everything we do at Six Senses. I will safeguard these pillars and its strategic planning and development and ensure all directives, practices and initiatives are implemented, embraced, adopted within the hotel. 

Duties and Responsibilities  

As Engineering Project Director, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Engineering department including landscape and gardening, plant and equipment, technical work, carpentry, sustainability, fire and safety systems and a preventative maintenance program to provide exceptional products and services within brand operating standards.  

The duties and responsibilities will include: 

  • Focus on the rejuvenation of the property. 
  • Lead all engineering and construction projects, including new developments, renovations, refurbishments and major capital expenditures.
  • Develop project master plans, timelines, budgets and resource allocation strategies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time within approved budgets and according to defined quality standards.
  • Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
  • Oversee all engineering disciplines including civil, structural, MEP, fire & life safety and specialist systems.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications and engineering calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, safety standards and environmental requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions for complex engineering challenges.
  • Products and services of my department will be constantly assessed and reviewed to remain relevant, innovative and in keeping with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
  • Responsible for inspecting property on a regular basis and ensuring any maintenance improvements are actioned within the designated time frame. 
  • Lead a team of engaged and experienced hosts to provide the Six Senses exceptional standards of service.
  • Assist General Manager on ensuring that property complies with all legal, statutory Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ensure that interaction and communications between departments within the property are clear and effectively maintained to support the smooth running of the property. 
  • Revise and control that my department’s operational budget is strictly adhered to and all costs will be continually monitored and controlled to drive profitability, while taking into consideration the preservation of required standards with every decision made.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to Health Safety Sustainability standards and promote a strong safety culture on-site.
  • Integrate sustainability principles, energy efficiency and environmentally responsible solutions into project design and execution.
  • Support brand standards related to wellness, sustainability commitments.
  • Minimize payroll costs by maximizing productivity and efficient scheduling of hosts.
  • Prepare and submit legally required and confidential documentation related to the operation.
  • Complete accurately all corporate reporting requirements for the role.
  • Attend or conduct the designated meetings and briefings as instructed by the General Manager with a two-way flow of pertinent information and communications.
  • Perform any additional duties given to me by the General Manager.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Has experience in hospitality, resort.
  • Strong expertise in Engineering Management and Team Leadership
  • Strong in construction, renovation, fire life safety
  • Proven project, capex & budget management
  • Strong leadership & problem-solving skills
  • Able to communicate in English
