Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Ownership

In your role, you ensure the Engineering department operates efficiently, delivering high-quality products and services that meet Six Senses brand standards and budget expectations. You work strategically with the Director of Engineering to set goals, establish procedures, and maintain consistency with the company’s vision and standards.

Your scope of work includes:

  • Staying current with industry trends and continuously improving products and services.
  • Leading the rejuvenation of the department.
  • Ensuring offerings remain relevant, innovative, and aligned with wellness and sustainability practices.
  • Maintaining rigorous adherence to LQA standards through your physical presence.
  • Managing daily operations, including maintenance and repair of Fire Life Safety systems.
  • Responding to guest requests and supporting operational departments as directed.
  • Overseeing HUB service call system tasks and water body operations.
  • Coordinating with external vendors for equipment servicing.
  • Managing documentation and reporting per brand guidelines.
  • Acting as first responder to Life/Fire safety issues and occasional risk/loss events.
  • Overseeing health and safety matters across the property.
  • Leading FLS, health and safety, and energy conservation committees.
  • Ensuring the product remains in optimal condition and aligned with brand values.
  • Minimizing payroll costs through efficient scheduling.
  • Preparing and submitting required legal and confidential documentation.
  • Completing all corporate reporting accurately.
  • Attending or leading meetings and briefings as instructed.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by your manager.

 

People Management

You support and develop hosts within your department by providing clear direction, delegation, encouragement, discipline, training, performance evaluation, and counseling. You build a loyal, productive, and effective team. You ensure hosts report on time, wear proper attire, and consistently deliver friendly, courteous, and efficient service.

You collaborate with your manager to recruit the right people, identify internal and external talent, and develop high-potential individuals. You always lead by example, uphold Six Senses principles and values, respect diverse cultures, and maintain a positive, proactive attitude to foster a strong team environment.

Responsible Business

You conduct all activities ethically and within local legal parameters. You ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, hosts, and property assets, complying with all policies and regulations. You maintain relationships with external contacts and encourage host involvement in community organizations and local businesses.

Accountability

You are a visible, proactive leader with strong organizational skills and strategic decision-making capabilities. You consistently deliver results in customer satisfaction, operational excellence, host engagement, revenue, and profitability. You represent Six Senses in high-profile business and community activities, reinforcing our market presence.

Skills and Experience

To succeed as an Engineering Manager, you bring the necessary qualifications, technical skills, and experience from similar roles in luxury hospitality. You hold a College Technical Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have over five years of relevant experience.

Your technical expertise includes project analysis and design, investigations, and a deep understanding of engineering-related products and services. You are proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), fluent in English, and familiar with the local language and customs.

The annual salary range for this position is $36,000 – 48,000.  This rate is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Grenada. This is the starting rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may pay more or less than the posted rate, and the rate may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
