We’re searching for an Engineering Assistant to support our Engineering team with day-to-day maintenance activities and help ensure our guest rooms, facilities, and hotel systems remain in excellent working condition at Crowne Plaza Kathmandu Pulchowk.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

● Assisting the Engineering team with daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of hotel facilities, equipment, and systems
● Supporting Engineering Technicians and other team members in carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities
● Responding to maintenance requests and work orders from guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and other hotel facilities as assigned
● Assisting with basic maintenance tasks related to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance within the scope of training and skills
● Conducting routine checks of assigned equipment, facilities, and areas and promptly reporting any defects or abnormalities to the Engineering team
● Assisting with preventive maintenance activities and ensuring scheduled maintenance tasks are completed and properly recorded
● Supporting the Engineering team in attending to guest room maintenance issues promptly to minimize disruption to guests
● Assisting with the setup, movement, and safe use of engineering tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials
● Maintaining Engineering workshops, storage areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition
● Supporting inventory checks and ensuring engineering materials, spare parts, consumables, and tools are properly stored and available when required
● Assisting with basic inspections of lighting, plumbing fixtures, air-conditioning equipment, pumps, motors, and other hotel systems as directed by the Engineering team
● Reporting equipment faults, leaks, unusual sounds, damaged fixtures, or other maintenance concerns promptly to the Engineering Supervisor or Technician
● Supporting contractors and external service providers during maintenance activities when required and under the direction of the Engineering team
● Assisting with energy and utility monitoring activities and reporting unusual consumption or operational issues when identified
● Supporting emergency maintenance requirements and responding promptly to operational needs as directed by the Engineering team
● Following safe working practices when handling tools, equipment, chemicals, electrical components, and other maintenance materials
● Ensuring compliance with hotel engineering procedures, health and safety, environmental, and workplace standards as required by local regulations

What We need from you:

● Technical qualification, vocational training, or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Building Maintenance, Hotel Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
● Previous experience in hotel engineering, building maintenance, or a similar technical environment preferred; freshers with relevant technical qualifications and the right attitude may also be considered
● Basic understanding of general hotel maintenance, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and building maintenance activities
● Willingness to learn and develop technical skills across different areas of hotel Engineering
● Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
● Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to support the Engineering team during busy operational periods
● Good attention to detail and ability to identify and report maintenance issues promptly
● Ability to follow instructions, established procedures, and safety requirements accurately
● Basic knowledge of hand tools, maintenance equipment, and safe working practices preferred
● Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hotel environment and respond to operational requirements
● Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, based on business requirements
● Knowledge of workplace health and safety and safe handling of tools and equipment as required by local regulations
