Role Purpose

The Manager, Procurement (Thailand) is responsible for driving strategic procurement initiatives across all Thailand HMA hotels with a strong focus on cost optimization, value creation, and hotel profitability improvement (GOP impact). The role will design and implement Thailand’s procurement strategy, ensuring standardization, compliance, and operational efficiency across F&B and OS&E categories.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Develop and execute Thailand’s procurement strategy across food, beverage, consumables, and OS&E categories.
  • Lead cost‑reduction initiatives through supplier consolidation, demand forecasting, negotiations, and process improvements.
  • Ensure best‑value procurement outcomes that maintain product quality and support operational standards for hotel owners.

2. Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Oversee supplier relationships, performance evaluations, and partnership development to support quality, sustainability, and cost‑efficiency goals.
  • Ensure strong compliance with preferred supplier programmes and contract terms.

3. New Hotel Opening Procurement (OS&E)

  • Lead OS&E procurement for new hotel openings, ensuring alignment with timelines, brand standards, and budget expectations. 

4. Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Engage closely with operations, technical services, brand/design, HLG, Procurement (EAPAC), and hotel purchasing teams.
  • Provide transparent updates, reporting, and alignment with owners, corporate teams, and external partners. 

5. Performance, Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate reporting across procurement activities and ensure contract and operational compliance.
  • Drive adoption and accuracy in procurement systems (e.g., P2P), targeting high PO compliance levels.
  • Support Thailand procurement teams and hotel purchasing teams with guidance and continuous improvement.

Key Metrics of Success

  • F&B Cost Savings: Achieving 5–10% cost savings through strategic sourcing. 
  • GOP Impact: Reduction of F&B and consumables cost ratios and tangible contribution to GOP improvements.
  • New Opening Support: Effective OS&E procurement support aligned with timelines and brand standards.
  • Vendor Compliance: High adoption of preferred supplier programmes and contract compliance.
  • System Performance: ≥90% PO compliance in P2P systems.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from hotel leaders and corporate teams.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Critical Expertise & Experience

  • Proven experience in national procurement, category management, or supply chain, ideally within hospitality or foodservice industries.
  • Strong understanding of procurement compliance, controls, and best practices in a hotel environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cost‑optimization initiatives with clear GOP results.
  • Deep knowledge of food cost drivers, product quality standards, and vendor networks in Thailand.
  • Experience in rolling out procurement or ERP (P2P) systems in multi‑hotel environments. 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain high‑impact relationships with senior stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Competent change leader with capacity to implement new processes.
  • Strong command of Thai and English (written & spoken).

  • Market procurement strategy for suppliers and operational spend.
  • Development of sourcing strategies (RFx) and delivery of market procurement plans.
