That's why we're looking for a highly skilled Duty Engineer – a proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and the technical expertise to keep our hotel in top-notch condition. You'll be the hands-on expert ensuring everything runs smoothly, guaranteeing a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, ensuring quick and effective resolutions.
- Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all hotel systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshooting and repairing issues as they arise, from minor fixes to more complex system malfunctions.
- Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and work completed.
- Adhering to all safety standards and regulations, ensuring a secure environment for guests and colleagues.
- Assisting with the installation of new equipment and general facility upgrades.
- Being ready to jump in and assist with any unexpected maintenance needs to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
What We need from you:
- Some college or advanced vocational training in a relevant field.
- At least two years of experience in general building maintenance, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Proven technical skills in areas such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a guest-focused approach.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Professional certification or license in relevant trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC) may be required.
