Job Summary:
The Doorperson will be the first point of contact for the guest's arrival on the property. Our doorpersons are iconic, embodying the pinnacle of hospitality, creating the perfect welcome, and making lasting impressions. Your role goes beyond opening doors; it's about delivering a warm welcome and impeccable service and ensuring the seamless arrival and departure experiences that define our reputation for luxury.
A little bit about your day:
Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, every day is different, but you will mostly be:
- Promote Regent’s service philosophy and style through our people attributes.
- Maintain impeccable personal grooming standards to uphold the professional and property style of the resort.
- Attend the shift briefing daily at the start of your shift.
- Complete the Doorperson checklist during your shift and notify the Guest Services Manager of any discrepancies or challenges.
- Greet guests with warmth and professionalism, with a genuine desire to exceed their expectations upon arrival and departure.
- Ensure the arrival greeting is specific, acknowledging returning guests, VIPs, and One Rewards loyalty members.
- Assist guests with luggage, ensuring a smooth and effortless transition into the resort.
- Introduce the guest by name to the Guest Experience Manager for arrival orientation and room escort.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the resort’s facilities, services, and local attractions to provide accurate and helpful information to guests.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to promptly meet guest requests and preferences.
- Review arrivals and departures reports thoroughly to effectively engage with all guests.
- Communicate with Orla’s hostess and other restaurant colleagues for arriving reservations.
- Communicate all guest arrivals over radio to the front-of-house colleagues for greeting and room escorts.
- Monitor the entrance area to ensure guests' and colleagues' safety and security.
- Maintain a polished and professional appearance, adhering to the resort’s grooming and uniform standards.
- Coordinate with the valet parking team to ensure efficient and organized handling of guest vehicles.
- Assist guests during the valet parking experience.
- Work harmoniously with the valet team to curate an exceptional arrival and departure experience.

- Direct all vehicles reserved for guest's pickup and drop off service where to park.
- Have complete control over the front drive, directing vehicles around the driveway and reserving hold spots for designated VIPS, resort and Orla guests, and high-end vehicles.
- Designate parking spots for large vehicles, sprinter buses, and mass group arrivals and departures.
- Assist with unloading luggage for large groups and coordinate delivery with the guest services team.
What We need from you:
- Proven doorman experience or a similar guest-facing role, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end establishment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Impeccable grooming and presentation
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Strong physical fitness to handle and perform duties effectively.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What you can expect from us:
The hourly pay range for this role is $19.00 to $20.00, plus tips. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A colleague’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
