As a Doorman at InterContinental Abu Dhabi, you will be the first point of contact for arriving guests and visitors. You are responsible for creating a memorable first and last impression by offering warm and professional greetings, assisting with luggage, providing valet parking services, and ensuring smooth traffic flow at the hotel entrance. You will also offer local information, directions, and personalized service, contributing to an exceptional guest experience in line with IHG’s service standards.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:
- Greet all guests and visitors with a warm smile and genuine hospitality.
- Open doors, assist with luggage, and offer assistance to guests entering or leaving the property.
- Maintain a visible and professional presence at the hotel entrance at all times.
- Assist with arranging transportation (taxis, limousines) upon guest request.
- Work closely with the Bell Desk, Concierge, and Front Desk to ensure seamless guest arrivals and departures.
- Provide guests with directions, local attractions, and hotel information.
- Monitor and manage the flow of traffic at the entrance to avoid congestion and ensure guest safety.
- Recognize VIP guests and ensure their special preferences are anticipated and delivered.
What we need from you:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of hotel services, city attractions, and guest service standards preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; Arabic or other languages are a plus.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy luggage.
- Strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Customer service-oriented with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
