In this role, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of my department to provide exceptional products and services within Six Senses brand operating standards and budget. I will be responsible for driving the marketing strategy and content for Six Senses La Sagesse Grenada both short and long term, and working alongside the Resort’s dedicated agencies (Digital Marketing Team, PR, Social Media) and Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing. The role also collaborates with the Resort sales team and entities to uncover insights and strategies to develop and implement marketing strategies for new and existing experiences, products and services.
I will work strategically with the Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing to develop cohesive and productive goals for my department and establish procedures/guidelines to achieve them. I will maintain an overall consistency of the Company’s vision, quality/standards and develop concepts consistent with brand identity.
I will work collaboratively with the Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing, Executive team and operations on correlated product standards and ensure that the brand provides a systematic culture that delivers excellent guest service results as measured by the brand, independent guest satisfaction company and social media vehicles in an effort to deliver on our promise to our guests and stakeholders.
My scope of work includes:
• Keep abreast of industry trends and practices and update knowledge and skills to improve the product and service offering.
• Traffic and workflow management
• Oversight of website management
• Oversight of email marketing campaigns, develop of loyalty programs, and customer relationship management
• Champion use of technology and tools to enhance marketing efforts.
• Lead in-house initiatives for marketing and multi-channel online/offline activity.
• Develop and implement marketing and brand strategies to support the Resort’s new and existing products and services.
• Implement key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends in order to translate results into actionable insights for marketing and sales teams.
• Be a constant champion of the brand, ensuring strategic alignment, embedding of key behaviors, quality of output and approach.
• Act as brand guardian, responsible for enhancing and maintaining image of Six Senses Grenada. .
• Oversee all national and international marketing communications activity to generate positive publicity, appropriate positioning, and to align with and meet Resort business goals.
• Helps to oversee external agencies assisting with advertising, digital strategy, content management, branding and creative design.
• Helps to oversee and co-manage annual marketing budget.
• Continually review changes to the market, consumer booking trends, pace, and the activities of competitors, adjusting strategy, if necessary.
• Provide supportive tools and materials to enable the sales team to function effectively.
• Perform any additional duties assigned to me.
Skills and Experience
To execute the position of Director of Marketing I have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results. I possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field and more than five years’ experience in a senior marketing role.
The Director of Marketing is a creative role. I can:
• demonstrate clear strategic thinking and be a good communicator, both written and verbal. I possess excellent copywriting skills with a deep understanding of brand language (social media posts, newsletters, website updates, advertising, guest communication).
• create visually stunning content, including reels, ads, google banners (jpg and gifs), property signage.
• communicate with impact, able to influence and interact effectively with all levels of an organization.
• skillfully lead, champion and drive the vision within immediate and wider teams.
• network and represent Six Senses to internal and external customers.
• consistently demonstrate excellent customer service skills, superior interpersonal skills, results-oriented and highly self-motivated.
The role calls for continual analysis of market trends and the positioning of competitors. This analysis provides the foundation for marketing strategies. Ability to turn quantitative data into actionable creative.
I possess a strong working knowledge of systems:
o Advanced Microsoft Office, Canva, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Mac/iOS, WordPress, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and the ability to work within communication platforms – i.e. NAVIS, Agilysis, Synxis.
o Solid understanding working within content management systems, such as Sprout Social and Hootsuite
o Experience with HTML/CSS and website analytics using a variety of tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Insights.
Preferred Experience
• 5+ years’ experience in marketing, communications or public relations in a leadership role, or demonstrating progressive advancement within the marketing communications field.
• Extended experience within the hotel/travel industry/ and or luxury lifestyle sector preferred.
• Strong marketing and communications planning background, ideally gained within an agency or in-house marketing environment with experience in developing and delivering integrated strategies and campaigns. Significant experience in advising colleagues on communications planning and prioritization.
• A track record of successfully designing and delivering major, multi-channel, response driven communications and marketing campaigns in a complex organization.
• Experience of managing suppliers, partnerships, marketing budgets and long-term strategic planning.
I will maintain a thorough understanding of Six Senses in terms of guidelines, rules and regulations, brand and operating standards, facilities and services.
