Your Role: 

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of U.S. Leisure Sales to lead the leisure sales strategy across key segments, including Retail Leisure, Consortia, Geo Market Wholesale, and Entertainment. This role will focus on driving revenue from the U.S. Northeast, U.S. Midwest, and Canada, with a strong emphasis on building relationships with travel partners, entertainment agencies, and wholesale accounts.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong industry relationships, proven negotiation skills, and a track record of delivering results in luxury or lifestyle hospitality environments. This role will support the InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa, Six Senses La Sagesse Grenada, and the upcoming InterContinental Grenada (opening in 2026).

The ideal candidate is based in a major city on the East Coast

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive leisure sales strategy targeting the U.S. NE, U.S. MW, and Canada.
  • Lead sales efforts across retail leisure, consortia networks, geo-market wholesale, and entertainment sectors (film, TV, music, and touring professionals).
  • Identify growth opportunities in each geographic and segment-specific market to increase room nights and revenue.

Account Management & Development

  • Manage top leisure travel accounts and build long-term partnerships with key travel agencies, consortia networks (Virtuoso, Signature, etc.), and wholesale partners.
  • Develop entertainment segment business, establishing relationships with entertainment travel agencies, production coordinators, and tour managers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create offers and packages that align with target market needs.

Sales Execution & Reporting

  • Conduct sales calls, attend tradeshows (e.g., ILTM, Virtuoso Travel Week, etc.), and organize roadshows and in-market events.
  • Prepare strategic sales plans, forecasts, and performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Leverage market intelligence, competitive analysis, and travel trend insights to inform business strategy.

Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment across departments.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to any assigned sales team members or coordinators.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of hotel sales experience, with a focus on leisure and entertainment markets.
  • Strong relationships with North American travel agencies, entertainment agents, and consortia networks.
  • Proven track record in driving sales revenue in U.S. NE, U.S. MW, and Canadian markets.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Experience:

  • Luxury or lifestyle hotel background preferred.
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Delphi.).
  • Understanding of the Canadian travel market and entertainment travel requirements.
