Your day to day

We are looking for a dynamic Director of Finance & Business Support, who will oversee all Financial, Accounting & Business Support, programs, and budgets and implement processes to drive achievement of revenue targets and budget goals, evaluate team progress, while identifying new ideas that will help drive the business and solving problems through strong interpersonal skills and efficient communication.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the hotel's financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, aligned with the overall business objectives. 
  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial data and key performance indicators to assess the hotel's financial health, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets, providing guidance on cost control and resource allocation.
  • Manage cash flow, investment strategies, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and maximize returns on surplus funds.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, providing insights into the hotel's financial performance and future outlook.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls, conducting periodic audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Assess and mitigate financial risks, including currency exchange fluctuations, interest rate exposure, and credit risks, through hedging strategies and risk management practices.
  • Evaluate capital investment opportunities and major financial decisions, conducting feasibility studies and financial modeling to support decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage debt levels and financing arrangements, negotiating terms with lenders and investors to secure favorable terms and minimize costs.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes that may impact the hotel's financial performance and operations.
  • Liaise with external auditors, legal advisors, and financial consultants to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior management, offering financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive efficiency and process improvements in financial operations, leveraging technology and automation to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks.

 

What we need from you

  • For you to be the ideal candidate, you should have the following:
  • Min. 8 years’ of related experience in Hotel Finance
  • Accountancy qualifications required 
  • Must have previously held a senior role within a hotel
  • Pre-opening experience preferred
  • Must read, write and speak English. A 2nd Asian language is an advantage
