People
•Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in manpower planning and overall sales team resource management.
•Work closely with HR and the Director of Sales & Marketing to identify talent needs and ensure the team is staffed appropriately to meet business goals
•Oversee daily sales activities and foster strong working relationships within the team.
•Establish clear and open lines of communication with other departments to ensure alignment and collaboration
•Take ownership of team performance management, conducting regular reviews and setting clear performance expectations
•Foster a culture of continuous learning by developing individual development plans, and support succession planning to build a strong talent pipeline for the future
Financial
•Contribute to the preparation of the annual sales operating budget and financial plans.
•Monitor expenses, maximise upselling opportunities, and minimise waste to drive revenue growth.
•Negotiate room rates and promote the hotel’s unique selling points and services within approved booking guidelines.
•Monitor and analyse local competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
•Proactively solicit business and follow up on referrals and potential leads to convert them into bookings
•Stay updated on trends, systems, and best practices in AV and event technology through industry literature, hotel showcases, and site visits.
•Provide strategic direction and conduct market research to identify new opportunities and inform sales strategies
•Maintain regular contact with IHG regional hotels and reservation networks to drive collaboration and business referrals
•Represent the hotel at trade shows and industry events; promote and sell conference and event space as directed
Guest Experience
•Monitors competitors activities and assists in marketing intelligence
•Refers sales leads to appropriate personnel within the InterContinental Hotels Group
•Sells to new, existing and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy, negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business
•Services existing business through management of account bases
•Sell all facets of the hotel
•Develop and maintain a regular pattern of sales calls, meeting with principals of target market
•Develops and maintains contact with business generators, meeting and convention planners, visitors/convention bureau, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, Government Departments and other producers closely allied to Hotel business
•Builds profile within local marketplace through attendance at various events
•Conduct client meetings
•Entertain clients
•Plan and conduct familiarisation tours and site inspections
•Travel when required to promote the hotel and develop potential business
Responsible Business
•Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.
•Coordinate safety and security initiatives to ensure meetings flow smoothly with minimal interruptions or problems. Coach and advise clients on meeting options and alternatives that potentially reduce waste, save energy and have a minimal impact on the environment.
•Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty
Accountability
Total account management with Corporate FIT, group and meeting targets per account
Sales target as per the allocated segment along with the desired guest experience scores
Drive loyalty contribution though key account management
[What we need from you]
· Minimum of 3-year Sales experience in 4* or 5* Hotel property
· Hospitality degree or equivalent
· Excellent customer relations, problem solving and time management skills
· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and Opera Sales
· Proven ability to creating new business opportunities
· Assertive, professional and positive with a proven ability to develop in a team environment
· Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment
