Role Purpose
The Director, Wedding Proposition owns the end-to-end success of IHG domestic & outbound India weddings segment, defining the business & marketing proposition, enabling hotels and sales teams, and building a scalable platform for long-term revenue growth.
Key Accountabilities
- This role owns the end-to-end Wedding Proposition for India, spanning marketing strategy, brand experience, commercial framework, sales enablement and hotel execution, working across global, regional and hotel teams.
Define and implement the weddings value proposition & concept for India domestic & outbound weddings
Lead the wedding brand narrative, creative direction and digital experience across IHG channels, including IHG.com
Establish the commercial framework, defining the relevant pricing strategy, commission structure for planners and agencies
Define the role of IHG One Rewards and distribution channels in driving wedding demand and loyalty
Develop and deploy sales toolkits and go-to-market strategies for Global, National and hotel sales teams
Create operational standards and playbooks to enable hotels to deliver consistent, high-quality wedding experiences
Lead cross-functional alignment across Brand, Marketing, Sales, Commercial, Loyalty and Operations
Manage agency partners- including but not limited to Marketing agency - and track performance against strategic and commercial KPIs
Act as sounding board of Indian Weddings from building a proposal, to site inspections, to hosting events, in collaboration with on-property teams
Critical Expertise, Experience and Educational Attainment Required
Educational Attainment:
Master's and /or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Critical Expertise & Experience:
~15 years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated understanding of brand positioning, marketing strategies and campaign deployment. Experience in hospitality is preferred but not compulsory. Attitude and Commitment are the most important qualities we look for.
Prior exposure to the Indian wedding ecosystem through Hospitality, Wedding planner or Supplier experience is critical.
Knowledge of channels and experience in driving digital strategies including digital transformation & social.
Track record in successfully developing and maintaining excellent working relationships across all functions at all levels to ensure maximum benefit from cross-functional synergies.
Demonstrated communication skills including ability to influence and ability to build and maintain internal & external relationships.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of marketing principles including Marketing planning, brand management, integrated marketing campaigns, roll out & measurement
Demonstrated project management skills in organizing, planning and executing large size projects
Must possess superior problem-solving skills combined with stakeholder management and team leadership skills
