Bottom line? We’re looking for a Cost Controller at Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong comfortable with balancing the books when it comes to managing the needs of owners, auditors and regulatory agencies while also monitoring and improving hotel profitability, providing full support to Director of Finance & Business Support.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Working as an important member of hotel pre-opening team and assisting in building your future finance team and culture.
- Monitoring and controlling new system implementations including general ledger, points of sales system, procurement system, to name but a few.
- Implementing and maintaining high standard accounting practices and procedures as required by InterContinental Hotels Group Policy, USALI, and HKFRS.
- Assisting in ensuring all accounts are reconciled on monthly basis, reviewing and approving those reconciliations.
- Assisting in implementing and maintaining acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by IHG policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting practices and as affected by local conditions.
- Conducting periodical purchase price comparisons of food & beverage items as well as operating supplies with other hotels.
- Assisting in providing safe keeping, including proper storage and access, for all contracts, leases and other financial records.
- Pre-costing all restaurant and banquet menus of all purchases and prepared items. Developing information to pre-cost all food items purchased.
What we need from you
- A minimum of 3 years’ work experience in hotel related field.
- A higher diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong integrity sense is a must.
- Hands-on, responsible, attention to details, possess good analytical mind.
- Excellent communication skills both internally and externally.
- Familiarized with Sun Ledger, SCM and POS system is an advantage.
- Advanced users in MS Office Excel and Word.
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), speaking and writing.
