Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Returns
· Reports on financial returns of Marketing activities on a monthly basis
· Responsible for the achievement of marketing/ communications /public relations mission, goals and financial objectives
· Contributes to the wider Commercial targets and forecasting
· Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing/communications/public relations program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
People
· Reports to the General Manager of Holiday Inn Express Singapore Clarke Quay & General Manager of Holiday Inn Singapore Little India.
· Work with management, other staff and volunteers to: develop and maintain a strategic perspective – based on marketplace and constituent needs and satisfaction – in organizational direction, program and services, and decision-making; and, ensure the overall health and vitality of the Hotels.
· Ensure the Hotels’ and Owning Company’s philosophy, mission and vision are clearly embedded and consistently practiced across the cluster.
· Develop and coordinate means to seek regular input from the Hotels’ key constituencies regarding the quality of programs and services and the Hotels’ relevance.
· Help formulate and administer policies to bring attention and solutions to institutional priorities.
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management
· Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the Hotels’ image and position within the marketplace and general public, and facilitate internal and external communications; and, all Hotels’ marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations, client acquisition and so forth.
· Ensure articulation of Hotels’ desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the Hotels’ and assure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external.
· Develop and drive a rolling 12-month integrated marketing calendar, aligning Rooms, F&B, and brand initiatives with demand cycles, key need periods, and revenue opportunities across the cluster.
· Own the localization and execution of IHG regional and global campaigns, selectively activating initiatives based on cluster priorities, and optimizing performance to maximise commercial impact.
· Champion cross-functional campaign planning and execution, ensuring strong alignment with Revenue, Operations, and F&B teams to deliver measurable outcomes in occupancy, covers, and total revenue.
· Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all Hotels’ publications.
· Coordinate the appearance of all Hotels’ print and electronic materials, such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
· Develop, coordinate and oversee programs, technical assistance and resource materials to assist chapters in the marketing, communications and positioning of their activities.
· Provide counsel to chapters on marketing, digital, communications, design and public relations.
· Ensure that the Hotels’ regularly conduct relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitoring of trends is inclusive.
Loyalty & Distribution Channels
· Lead the strategy and performance of IHG One Rewards across the cluster, driving member acquisition, direct revenue contribution, and on-property engagement through integrated marketing and loyalty-focused initiative.
· Drive strategic alignment of OTA and GDS channels in partnership with Revenue Management to optimize visibility, conversion, and cost of acquisition while protecting direct channel performance.
· Key champion of the various distribution channels and optimize the visibility and ROAS for all boosters by working closely with Revenue team and respective market managers.
Public Relations & Media
· Coordinate media interest in the Hotels and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests
· Act as the Hotels’ representative with the media.
Others
· Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing/communications/public relations function.
· Keep informed of the developments in the fields of marketing, communication, digital and public relations, not-for-profit management and governance, and in the specific business of the Hotels and use this information to help the Hotels operate with initiative and innovation.
· Key stakeholder management, including but not exclusive to General Managers, wider IHG commercial/marketing teams, Owning Company Representative, Owners, Suppliers, Competitors and other members of the local community.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, in a hospitality sector. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, advertising or public relations preferred. Graduate degree in a related field is desirable.
· Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
· Shows strong creative, strategic, analytical, organisational, and personal sales skills. Experienced in developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel.
· Demonstrated experience in writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with the media
· Experience in overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
· Committed to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams
· Ability to analyze, interpret, and extract trends from data, and convert them into actionable plans.
· Strong linguist with effective English and Chinese literacy.
· Problem solver at heart with a can-do attitude, who can navigate through ambiguity.
