IHG Hotels & Resorts – Malta is seeking to recruit a Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the Sales & Marketing team and the Commercial Strategy across its expanding portfolio of hotels in Malta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial performance of the InterContinental Hotel, voco Hotel, Holiday Inn Express Hotel, and future hotel openings planned as part of IHG Hotels & Resorts Malta expansion.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a dynamic and results-driven hospitality professional to drive revenue growth, strengthen market positioning, and lead the sales and marketing function across multiple properties within a globally recognised hospitality brand.


Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement the cluster sales and marketing strategy to maximise revenue, market share, and profitability across the portfolio.
  • Drive business growth across rooms, corporate accounts, groups, events, and food & beverage revenue streams.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to identify new revenue channels.
  • Prepare and analyse sales forecasts, performance reports, and strategic action plans.
  • Represent the hotels at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to generate new business.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, inspire, and develop the cluster sales and marketing team.
  • Set clear targets and performance objectives aligned with commercial goals.
  • Foster strong collaboration between sales, marketing, revenue management, and hotel operations.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to ensure consistent high performance.

Client & Market Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel partners, event organisers, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the coordination of group bookings, conferences, and corporate events across the hotels.
  • Ensure seamless communication with operational departments to deliver exceptional guest and client experiences.

Brand & Market Presence

  • Strengthen the local and international visibility of the hotels.
  • Work with marketing partners and agencies to deliver impactful campaigns aligned with brand standards.
  • Promote the hotels’ sustainability initiatives and responsible business practices as part of the commercial strategy.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in hospitality sales and marketing, including leadership of a sales team.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful commercial strategies.
  • Strong understanding of local market dynamics and corporate business networks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; Italian will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with hotel openings or repositioning projects will be considered a strong asset.
